Three men have been jailed for four years each after they were convicted of producing cannabis in Wokingham.

Kadri Bako, aged 29 and Emiljano Faslliaj, aged 30, both of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty in a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Friday 23 April 2021 to the charge.

Police were contacted by a witness to report a large cannabis factory at two industrial units in Oxford Road, Wokingham.

On 3 December 2020, officers attended the scene and a large quantity of cannabis was located being cultivated within the site.

Within the premises were a large number of cannabis plants with a street value of approximately £1.5 million in various stages of growth.

Bako and Faslliaj were arrested that day, Bako was then charged on 4 December 2020 and Faslliaj was charged the following day.

Following Crime Scene investigators attending the units, fingerprints came back identifying Eduard Troka, aged 30 of no fixed abode. He was then arrested on 28 January 2021 in London, and charged the same day. He pleaded guilty during the trial at Reading Crown Court on Thursday 16 September 2021.

All three men were sentenced at Reading Crown Court to four years imprisonment.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Julia Winmill, of Loddon Valley, said:

“This conviction and sentence shows how Thames Valley Police will continue to work proactively to disrupt organised criminals and reduce the impact such set ups have on our communities.

“I would encourage members of the public to have the confidence to come forward with any information that may help us to continue to pursue those who engage in this type of activity.
