Burglars armed with crowbars have forced their way into a house in Reading and stolen jewellery worth £30,000.

A man who lived at the address in the Wokingham Road had his armed broken and suffered cuts to his head.

He was treated at Royal Berkshire Hospital for his injuries and has since been discharged.

The incident occurred between 11.30pm on Wednesday (26/1) and 12:30am on Thursday (27/1) at a property in Wokingham Road.

Police are now appealing for dashcam footage and information about anything suspicious that passers by may have noticed.

Investigating officer, DS Mark Boyd, based at Loddon Valley police station, said:

“We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident and saw anything suspicious to come forward.

“We would also urge anyone with relevant CCTV or dash cam footage to get in touch.
