Bracknell murder investigation closed
Police say they no longer consider Agapito de Sousa was murdered
Following an investigation into the death of Agapito de Sousa in Bracknell on 25 April this year, officers from Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit have now concluded the investigation.
Mr de Sousa, who was 34, was found with a serious head injury in the Twin Bridges Roundabout underpass in the early hours of the morning on 25 April and a murder investigation was subsequently launched.
Four men who were arrested in connection with the investigation have all been released with no further action to be taken.
As the investigation has concluded, a file has now been prepared for the coroner.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Stuart Bosley, said:
“Our investigation into this tragic incident has been ongoing for several months, and we are now in a position to confirm that we are no longer treating this as a murder investigation.
“Our thoughts remain with Mr de Sousa’s family, and the case has now been passed to the coroner for a full inquest into the circumstances.
“I would like to pass on my thanks to all those who came forward with information during this investigation, and would also like to pay tribute to Mr de Sousa’s family and friends for their dignity and understanding while this was ongoing.”
