Man jailed after 'very scary' armed incident in Bracknell
He threatened victim with handgun
A man has been jailed in relation to a firearm incident in Bracknell.
Lee Guyett, aged 40, of The Ring, Bracknell, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison at Reading Crown Court.
He pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and two counts of racially/religiously aggravated fear/provocation of violence by words/writing.
Guyett was also found not guilty of another count of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
At around 8.45pm on 20 July last year, a man in his twenties attended Campion House off Jock’s Lane with a group of men looking for a stolen motorbike, which they thought might be in the area.
While there, the victim was challenged by a man who produced a golf club and asked why he was in the area.
Guyett then appeared, who produced a handgun in a plastic bag, pointed it towards the victim and threatened him.
The man with the golf club attempted to intervene and tried to calm Guyett, but he continued to point the gun towards the victim until he left the area and called police.
Officers, including an armed deployment, attended and arrested Guyett, who was later racially abusive towards officers. He was charged on 22 July last year.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Charlotte Hilton said:
“This was a very scary incident for those involved but fortunately, no one was physically injured.
“Lee Guyett threatened someone with a firearm and racially abused our officers, behaviour that Thames Valley Police will never tolerate.
“Guyett will now have time to reflect on his unacceptable actions in prison.”
Officers also arrested a 45-year-old man from Datchet but he has since been released with no further action.
