Arrest made in connection with Bracknell machete attack
Police say they believe it was a targeted incident
Police investigating a machete attack in Bracknell say they've made an arrest.
A 42-year-old man from Bracknell was arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent (10/8). He has since been released on police bail.
The arrest relates to an incident at approximately 1.20pm on Wednesday (9/8) at a bus shelter outside Radius Court, London Road.
The victim, a man aged in his thirties, was attacked by a man with a machete and sustained a stab wound to his face. He remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Superintendent Andy Cranidge, the local policing area commander for Bracknell & Wokingham said:
“I know that incidents such as this cause concern in our local communities, but I would like to reassure the public that we believe that the victim and offenders were known to each other and this was a targeted attack.
“We have made an arrest, and our investigation is progressing. The man has since been bailed to return to police at a later date.
