Boys cleared of attempted murder at Reading crown court

They'd been charged after stabbing in Caversham last summer

Two teenage boys have been acquitted of attempted murder in Reading.

The 17-year-olds from Reading, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were found not guilty of one count each of attempted murder at Reading Crown Court.

At around 12.50am on 9 August last year, the force received a report of an altercation in Hemdean Road, Caversham.

The force then received a further report that a boy in his teens had presented at hospital with three stab wounds. He was treated for potentially life-threatening injuries at hospital but has since been discharged.

Retrial

There will be a retrial for one of the defendants on one count of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent on a date to be confirmed.
