Abdul Aziz Faiz Ansari was stabbed to death in Slough by a 16-year-old
A boy has been jailed for murdering Abdul Aziz Faiz Ansari in Slough.
The 16-year-old boy from Slough, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 15 years at Reading Crown Court.
A jury found him guilty of one count of murder at the same court on 15 November.
The boy pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a bladed article at the same court on 29 June this year.
At around 7.15pm on 5 May this year, officers attended Trelawney Avenue following a report that a man had been stabbed near the parade of shops.
Officers found the victim, Abdul Aziz, who was 18-years-old, being assisted by a member of the public.
Abdul Aziz was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in London for further treatment but he died later.
Senior Investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector William Crowther, of the Major Crime Unit, said:
“I hope today’s sentencing hearing provides a clear warning to anyone who considers carrying a knife in the Thames Valley that the consequences can be tragic, as they were for Abdul Aziz and the 16-year-old boy who has now been convicted and will be jailed for at least 15 years.
“Thames Valley Police will never tolerate such behaviour so we will always seek to bring offenders to justice. Our message is clear, if you carry a knife, you will be arrested, charged and brought before the courts.
“I also hope today’s hearing will bring some form of closure to Abdul Aziz’s family and our thoughts are still very much with them.”
