14-year-old pedestrian suffers broken jaw in road collision near Reading

A 14-year-old boy has suffered a broken jaw after a road collision near Reading.

The boy, who was a pedestrian, was in collision with car on the A4 Bath Road at Charvil on Monday afternoon.

At around 3.15pm on Monday (26/4) a Volkswagen Crafter was travelling on the A4 Bath Road, Charvil when it was involved in a collision with a pedestrian at the entrance to Newlands Farm.

The pedestrian, a 14-year-old boy, sustained a broken jaw and remains in hospital receiving treatment.

PC Ben Taylor, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said:

“I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident to please come forward.

“If you were travelling along this road at the time of the incident and have a dash-cam, I would ask that you check any footage in case it may have captured something that could assist with the investigation.
