The body of a man in his 40s has been found near The Boat House in Wallingford.

Emergency services responded to a call yesterday, where the man was confirmed deceased.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "We were called to Lower Wharf, Wallingford, just before 12.50pm this afternoon following reports that the body of a man had been located near to The Boat House.

"Very sadly, a man aged in his forties was confirmed deceased at the scene by the ambulance service.

"The man’s next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by officers. The thoughts of all of Thames Valley Police are with his family at this very difficult time.

"A cordon remains in place at the scene, although the man’s death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
