Tribute to "wonderful dad and grandad" after Hampshire crash
The collision happened on the A31 in the New Forest
The family of a man from Basingstoke who died in a car crash on the A31 near Minstead in the New Forest has paid tribute to him.
The collision involving a white Honda Civic and green Ford Focus happened at around 11pm on Monday 27 December.
The driver of the Ford, 69-year-old Stephen Swanson, from Talmey Close in Chineham, was taken to Southampton General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
His family have been supported by specialist officers.
They said: "We would like to say a huge thank you to the public who gave CPR and to the emergency services.
"We also thank Southampton Hospital for their care and support during our dad's final days.
"We are grateful for everyone’s condolences during these sad times.
"Our dad will be missed by many. He was a wonderful dad and grandad and we will treasure all of our amazing memories with him. RIP."
Police are continuing to investigate the collision and want to hear from anyone who can help with the inquiry.
