Basingstoke's annual charity variety show is to return.

It was called off last year due to covid but it's been confirmed the community show at the Anvil will go ahead on Saturday October the 2nd.

A line up of local music, dance and theatre groups are set to take part including Basingstoke Academy of Dance, Basingstoke Gang Show, Dancephaze and many solo acts.

School singing groups taking to the stage include Kingsclere CE Primary School, St Marks CofE Primary School and Tadley Community Primary School. Compering the Show for the evening will be Luis Wyatt – one of the UK’s most exciting new presenters.

Proceeds from the show will go to the Mayor’s Charity Appeal supporting The Community Furniture Project and the Friends of St Michael’s Hospice supporting St Michael’s Hospice.

Mayor Cllr Onnalee Cubitt said:

“I am thrilled that the wonderful Basingstoke Variety Show is set to return this year after it was cancelled due to Covid-19 last year.

“The borough is fortunate to have so much ‘home-grown’ talent and this is an opportunity for our residents to come along to The Anvil and show their support. It promises to be a fantastic night out watching great entertainment for all the family.

“You will also be supporting my Charity Appeal which supports two wonderful causes, so please join me.”
