Two men attempted to steal his bag but failed

A man has been pushed out of his wheelchair during an attempted robbery in Reading.

The incident occurred at between 10.45pm and 11.15pm on Wednesday (5/6) on the footbridge over the train tracks at the junction between Bath road and Berkley Avenue.

A man in his fifties was approached by two men who pushed him out of his wheelchair. The offenders then attempted to take his bag, but weren’t successful.

One of the offenders are described as a man of a medium build and wearing a grey and yellow hooded-jumper with tracksuit bottoms and high-top trainers. The other offender is described as a male wearing a hooded top.

Witnesses

Investigating officer DC Michael Hanson, said:

“We are appealing for any witnesses to this attempted robbery, or anyone with information which could help our investigation, to please come forward.

“Anyone with information should call us on 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43240263488.
