Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery following an incident in Andover.

Police were called at 10.41pm on Monday 27 May. It was reported that a man in his 30s was walking along London Road, near the junction with Woodlands Way, when a small blue car stopped nearby.

A man got out of the car, threatened the victim with what was described as a small knife, and attempted to take his bags.

Another car then passed the scene, and the man got back into the blue car. It was then driven away in the direction of Andover town centre.

Nothing was stolen.

Officers attended and following enquiries, a car was stopped near Ampfield.

Two men, both aged 19 and from Basingstoke, were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery. They remain in police custody while they carry out further enquiries.
