Appeal for witnesses after cars torched on Reading driveway

Police say the offender was seen running from the scene on Cressingham Road on Friday morning.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after two vehicles were deliberately set alight on the driveway of a home in Cressingham Road early on the morning of the 27th October.

The offender poured a liquid accelerant over two cars parked on a residential driveway and set them on fire before making off towards Cressingham Road.

The fire was extinguished by the fire service and no one was injured.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Matthew Rees said:

“We believe that this fire was started deliberately so we are investigating it as an arson.

“I would like to appeal to anybody who may have camera footage in the area, witnessed any suspicious activity or have any information regarding this incident, to please get in touch.
