Thames Valley Police has made two arrests in connection with the rape of a girl in Reading.

The victim, a teenage girl, was approached by two men.

She was walking on Oxford Road near to Beresford Road just after 10pm on Saturday.

The offenders and the victim then walked to Prince of Wales Avenue between Elm Park Road and Albany Road. At that location, the victim was raped by the offenders.

Police have arrested two 26-year-old men, both from Reading, and both arrested on suspicion of rape. They are still in police custody at this time.

At the weekend, police appealed for three people who helped the victim after the offence to come forward.

It's been confirmed that the woman who helped the victim has been identified.

However, they are still appealing for two males, possibly boys in their teens, who intervened and had an altercation with the offenders in Prince of Wales Avenue around 10.25pm.

The two males are being urged to contact the force.
