Armed raiders force their way into house in Reading

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident of aggravated burglary in Reading.

The incident occurred on Body Road at approximately 11.30pm on Saturday (10/2).

Five offenders forced entry into a residential property, searched the address and stole mobile phones and a quantity of cash.

The offenders were all wearing black face coverings and were carrying knives.

Three residents sustained minor injuries, but did not require hospital treatment.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Jennifer Cox, part of the Priority Crime Team based at Reading police station, said:

“I am appealing for anyone with information about this burglary to please get in touch.

“Also, if you have any CCTV or doorbell footage in the area or dash-cam footage if you were driving in the area around the time, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact us by calling 101 or via our website, quoting reference number 43240066314.

“Alternatively, you can report information completely anonymously to the independent charity, Crimestoppers, by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
