Police in Maidenhead seek sex assault witness

Police say a woman may have vital information

Police are appealing for a specific witness to contact them in relation to an investigation into an incident of sexual assault in Maidenhead.

Between 12pm and 12.55pm on Monday 15 April 2024, the victim was sexually assaulted near the animal enclosures at Ray Mill Island.

During this incident, another woman walked past to stroke two dogs nearby.

The witness is described as white, aged in her 50-60’s with short grey hair.

She was wearing a black quilted coat and plain leggings.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Arshid Ali, based at Maidenhead police station, said:

“I am looking to identify the woman who was seen walking near to the incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police, as we believe she has witnessed what has occurred.

“If you are this person, or believe that you are, we would ask you to please contact us either online via our website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43240172217.

“Similarly, I would appeal to anybody else who believe that they have witnessed this incident to please get in touch with us.”

A 33-year-man from Maidenhead has been arrested in connection with this incident and has been bailed until 7 July while investigations continue.
