Andover holds a world street party
Local groups from around the globe will be showing off their cultures
Andover High Street will be awash with colour, rhythm and flavour on Monday 25 August as the town sees the return of the World Street Party - a free, family-friendly festival of music, dance, food and crafts.
Running from 12pm to 5pm, the event has a packed programme of performances and workshops by local Nepalese dancers, Ukrainian musicians, and belly dancers, as well as a Chinese Lion Dance, storytelling and youth dance group performances.
Visitors can also try their hand at Morris dancing, African drumming and Ukrainian dance in a variety of workshops.
Food lovers will be spoiled for choice with a mouthwatering selection of international street food and produce from vendors such as Reggae Feast, Indriya Kitchen, Swedish Baking Studio, The Nomadic Kitchen, Trash Panda Pizza and more. Local producers and community groups will also be showcasing their work and wares, alongside free henna tattoos by Piya and craft activities including African beading and chochin lantern-making.

The event is part of the council’s ongoing commitment to the regeneration of the High Street - putting on events that encourage people to visit the town centre and enjoy themselves.
