Man charged in connection with serious assault in Andover

Police investigating a serious assault in Andover have charged a man.

27-year-old Shane Richard Donovan of York Court in Andover, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

This comes after Police were called at 9.18pm on Thursday, 29 July, to River Way after a 62-year-old man was assaulted.

The victim was taken to hospital where he remains. His injuries are described as life-threatening.

An 18-year-old man, a 28-year-old man, and a 36-year-old woman, all from Andover, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have all been released on police bail.
