Test Valley Borough Council is carrying out a consultation to help determine future enhancements to the children’s play area at Vigo Recreation Ground in Andover.

As part of the consultation, families are encouraged to get involved in a drop-in workshop that will take place in The Chantry Centre on Saturday 2 March from 10am to 3pm.

Cllr Terese Swain, Portfolio Holder for Community and Leisure, said:

“It would be great to have feedback from the local community and park users to help us decide on the specific areas for improvement, themes, experience, and usability. We are especially keen to hear where our residents think resources would be best used to ensure we are sustainable, inclusive and compliment the local environment.”

You can have your say by completing the online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/tvbcvigorec , the survey will close in mid-March.

The consultation follows on from an initial factfinding survey that helped the council to understand how people use Vigo Road Recreation Ground, and in particular what facilities would encourage residents to use the space and extend their stay.

Around 600 people took part in that survey, which demonstrated that residents use the Park for a diverse range of reasons: the most popular being the play area.

Test Valley Borough Council’s cabinet have already approved £350,000 for this project.
