Person treated for smoke inhalation in Andover fire
Firefighters attended a house fire in the town centre
Firefighters have attended a fire at a terraced house in Andover.
Crews from Andover, Winchester, Basingstoke, Whitchurch and one from Dorset & Wiltshire FRS arrived to find both the ground and first-floor of the Spring Mews house well alight.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus and used jets and the aerial ladder to tackle the fire which took around two hours to control and spread across three adjoining properties.
All residents safely evacuated from the properties, with one person passed into the care of the ambulance service for treatment for smoke inhalation.
Ventilation fans were in operation to clear smoke from the premises before firefighters delivered community safety materials to neighbouring addresses.
One snake was rescued from the property and taken to a local vet by an HIWFRS Animal Rescue Advisor.
Fire investigation officers will attend the scene to ascertain the cause of the blaze.
