The former armed forces chaplaincy training centre at Amport House near Andover could become a luxury hotel.

Plans have been submitted to Test Valley Borough Council that would see the building turned into a fifty-bedroom boutique hotel along with dining areas, a pool and a kids club.

Another Place group say it would be called 'The Garden' and would add to their hotels in the Lake District and Cornwall.

In their planning application they say "The development proposes a sensitive and appropriate new use which will support the local economy and importantly provide a long-term and viable use for Amport House into the future."

The grade II listed building was originally built in 1857 for the Marquess of Winchester.
