The Lexicon has teamed up with Bracknell Foodbank to help give local families a little extra cheer this Christmas

From now until Sunday, November 27 2023, the shopping centre is encouraging visitors to donate an advent calendar to a local family via The Lexicon Giving Box located in Princess Square.

Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon, said:

“We’re hoping that shoppers will purchase an additional advent calendar when buying for their own families and pop it into our Giving Box.

“We know from previous campaigns run in conjunction with Bracknell Foodbank, a small gesture, really can go a long way to bring smiles to children’s faces.”

Bracknell Foodbank will distribute the advent calendars to local families before December 1 2023.

Claire Mather, Bracknell Foodbank Manager, said:

“We are so grateful that the Lexicon has once again chosen to support us this Christmas time.

“Sadly, demand at foodbank this year has been higher than ever before, and we expect to be see even more families turn to us in the winter months.

“Seemingly small things like being able to give your child an advent calendar can make a huge difference when you’re going through a difficult time financially. The local community have been incredibly generous in the past and we hope, if you’re in a position to help, that you will support this campaign.”

The Mayor of the borough of Bracknell Forest, Cllr Naheed Ejaz, said:

“I was honoured to be one of the first to donate today. I know many families are under financial pressure, which can make Christmas a stressful time. With all the calendars collected going to Bracknell foodbank, we can help spread some festive joy.”
