An appeal for witnesses is starting following Saturday's multi-vehicle crash on the A34 near Newbury.

Two men suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision happened near Wash Water, just after 11am.

Witnesses describe a massive fire, and saw multiple fire engines, ambulances, police and highways vehicles at the scene.

A man in his 30s has a serious leg injury, and another in his 20s has badly hurt his arm.

The road was shut in both directions between the A343 and A4 for around twelve hours, but had reopened by midnight on Saturday night.

Drivers were diverted through Newbury on the B4640 and A339.
