A person remains in hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries after a collision involving a police car on the A507 in Bedfordshire.

The crash happened shortly before 10pm on Tuesday (6 February) between New Road and Ampthill Road. It involved two vehicles, including a marked police car that was not responding to an incident or in pursuit at the time.

Emergency services attended the scene, and two people – one from each vehicle – were taken to hospital. One has since been discharged, while the other remains under medical care.

Bedfordshire Police confirmed that the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) as part of standard procedure.

A spokesperson said: “We are investigating a road traffic collision involving a police vehicle on the A507. We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact us.”
