Voters to head to polling stations for Wyboston by-election

There's a vacant seat after Tom Wootton was elected as Mayor of Bedford Borough

Residents who have received polling cards will be able to vote in person for the Wyboston by-election today (June 29).

The vacant seat is available after Tom Wootton was elected as Mayor of Bedford Borough earlier this year, triggering a by-election for the Wyboston ward.

Voting opens at 7am and closes at 10pm tonight. You will need approved photo ID to be able to vote.

Candidates are Julie Cox, Conservative, Ian Nicholls, Labour and Thomas Townsend, Liberal Democrat.

For those voting in person, the following sites are open today:

Pertenhall Village Hall

The Old School, Bolnhurst

Keysoe Village Hall

Colmworth Village Hall

Wyboston Village Hall

Roxton Parish Hall

Little Staughton Village Hall

After today's election, the successful candidate will be joining the other 45 councillors already elected for the 28 wards.

What is accepted photo ID?

Passport

Driving licence (including provisional licence)

Blue Badge

Certain concessionary travel cards

Identity card with Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) mark

Biometric Immigration document

Defence identity card

Certain national identity cards

An expired photo ID can be used if the photo is still a good likeness.
