A woman in her 20s has been sentenced for assaulting children in Marlow.

24-year-old Amelia Simkiss, of Totteridge Road, High Wycombe, was sentenced yesterday to a one-year community order.

She pleaded guilty to one count of wilful assault at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on April 18th.

Simkiss assaulted five children whilst they were in her care between October 6h and November 8th last year, and was charged on March 23rd.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Kirsty Pendle, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “Amelia Simkiss was rightfully charged following after a number of incidents in October and November last year.

“I am relieved Simkiss pleaded guilty to the offences charged of her, preventing the families of the victims having to endure reliving the incidents in front of a court. Simkiss will now have time to reflect on her actions.

“We will never accept violence against children in Thames Valley Police and will always seek to bring offenders to justice.”
