Police were called to the scene yesterday morning
A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after being rescued from the river in Kempston yesterday (July 16).
Bedfordshire Police posted a statement last night to explain the presence of emergency services in the area yesterday morning, after they were called to the area where someone had found a woman in the river.
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were also at the scene just after 10:15am yesterday near Woodstock Road.
They got the woman out and she is now in hospital.
They're appealing for witnesses and information, and are urging members of the public to dial 999 and ask for the fire service if you see someone in trouble in the water.
