Woman in 70s in 'serious conditon' after being hit by lorry in Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire Police is appealing for witnesses following a collision which left a woman in her 70s with serious injuries.

At around 9.10am on Thursday (28/7) emergency services were called to the Sundon Road and Sharpenhoe Road junction in Streatley, where a pedestrian had been seriously injured following a collision with an HGV.

The woman in her 70s was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Sergeant Steve Andrews, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact us as soon as possible to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.
