A woman has died after a fire at a flat in Haddenham, near Aylesbury.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service say two appliances and crews were sent to Butte Furlong, where they had to force entry to the flat.

The woman was rescued, and given emergency care before seeing the South Central Ambulance Service, but sadly died at the scene.

A man was also treated for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters from Thame and Aylesbury were met with smoke bellowing from the flat, in a two storey-block, when they arrived.

The Fire Service says the investigation's been passed to Thames Valley Police, and work is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
