A woman has been charged with murder following an incident in Welwyn Garden City over the weekend.

Police were called to an address on Linkfield last Sunday (May 19) following reports of a disturbance.

Emergency services followed, including ambulance and air ambulance crews, but despite their best efforts, a 42-year-old man, Gavin Hubbard, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 21-year-old woman, Tuche Coskun, of Central Avenue in Enfield, was arrested at the scene and has today been charged with murder and remanded into custody.

Coskun was also charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH) and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs after a number of wraps were found during searches.

She will appear at Luton Crown Court on Friday May 24.

Detective Inspector Justine Jenkins, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “We have specially trained officers supporting Gavin’s family at this most difficult time.”

She added: “I’d like to thank members of the public who have already called us with information and would ask if anybody else has information that may be relevant to this investigation to please contact us.

“On behalf of Gavin’s family, I would like to politely request that they are given time to process this news privately and for people not to speculate on the circumstances.”
