Watford North TGI Fridays among 35 immediately closed
However other branches across Bucks Beds and Herts have been rescued in a new deal
A rescue deal for TGI Fridays has seen 51 restaurants acquired by new owners after the previous UK operator collapsed into administration.
However, 35 restaurants were not included in the sale and have been shut immediately, resulting in more than 1,000 redundancies.
Watford North is among the 35 which have immediately closed, contributing to the loss of jobs, but other branches across the three counties including Milton Keynes, High Wycombe, Stevenage, Watford Central and Milton Keynes Stadium, will all be staying open.
New owners Breal Capital and Calveton UK said they were looking forward to modernising the business, which first launched in New York in 1965.
The other TGI Fridays UK restaurants shutting include Brighton Marina in East Sussex and Jersey's restaurant in the Channel Islands.
Wembley, Leicester Square and Lakeside are included in the restaurants saved.
