The Reverend Rachel Phillips, team rector of Dunstable, is hosting a Volunteers Expo today, following the coronation of King Carles III. The expo will showcase various volunteer groups in Dunstable and surrounding areas, with information about how people can get involved. Additionally, the church tower will be open for visitors to try out bell ringing, with displays, stands, and refreshments available. The mayor of Dunstable, Liz, will attend the opening ceremony and will cut the ribbon at 12:00 pm.

There are numerous ways to get involved in the church through volunteering, such as manning the church during the week when it's open to the public, conducting historical tours, gardening, and maintenance. There is something for everybody. The expo aims to recruit more volunteers and raise awareness of the various opportunities available.

Phillips also stated that the mayor will attend a special church service on Sunday morning for the coronation and pop in quite often in her official capacity. She expressed delight that the mayor would attend and cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony of the expo.

It comes as thousands of organizations across the UK are set to participate in the Big Help Out, a day of community volunteering to mark the historic coronation of King Charles. Religious and community leaders who have roles in the King's coronation service have urged Britons to take part in this planned volunteering drive.

It will be the first time representatives from the nation's faith communities will play an active role in the coronation of a monarch, and at the end of the coronation, the King will receive a greeting in unison from leaders and representatives from various religious communities.
