People in Aylesbury can now learn more about dementia in virtual information sessions.

A free event is being held by Aylesbury Town Council tonight (12 October) at 7pm.

Dementia Friends virtual sessions are usually presented to local businesses, schools and community groups who want to learn more about dementia in their community.

But, they are now being offered to members of the public to spread awareness even further within the community.

Janet took part in the first public session and said:

"The session was full of smiles, energy and enthusiasm.

"I learned several new things for me to think about that are all very practical and helpful."

The session is aimed at people who wish to become more aware of those living with dementia in our community.

Aylesbury Town Council's Communities Officer and Dementia Champion, Benedicta Lasoye, will be hosting the session which covers the five main messages that help understand how dementia can affect people.

All the spaces for tonight's session have now been taken, but the council will be hosting more sessions in the coming months.
