An 11 year old has suffered life threatening injuries and a 66 year old woman, a passenger has suffered serious injuries.
It happened on the M1 northbound junction 8 slip road to the A414 to Hemel Hempstead at around 6.20pm yesterday evening, Saturday 1st May.
A grey Hyundai i30 collided with a barrier and the road was closed to allow investigations at the scene and for the air ambulance to land.
Two others in the car sustained minor injuries.
Police are now appealing to anyone who may have been in the area, saw the incident or has dashcam footage of what happened.
