Two charged with driving offences after baby killed in Milton Keynes crash

Two people are facing court following a collision in Milton Keynes that resulted in the death of a seven-month-old baby.

Emanuela Sakyi, died following a head-on collision between a grey Peugeot 508 and a green Fiat 500 on Bletcham Way, Milton Keynes, on Sunday, 4 December 2022.

Emmanuel Sakyi, 29, of Garraways, Milton Keynes, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving while over the prescribed alcohol limit. He was also charged in June 2023 with driving over the alcohol limit and failing to stop after a road accident.

He was also previously charged on 2 June 2023 with one count of driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level was above the prescribed limit and one count of failing to stop after a road accident.

Ruth Oppong, 32, of Warwick Road, Coventry, is charged with aiding and abetting causing death by dangerous driving and causing unnecessary suffering or injury to a child.

The charges follow an investigation by Thames Valley Police.

Both are due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 17 December.
