Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after Chesham shooting
Two men are being questioned by police over a shooting in Chesham
Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Chesham earlier this week.
A 31 year-old man from Chalfont St Giles has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
While a 37 year-old man from Chesham has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
Both men remain in custody at the moment.
It comes after an incident on Broad Street on Tuesday 10th June.
A man in his 30s was shot while walking by someone in a silver coloured VW Scirocco.
The car then left the scene and was later found burned out.
The victim was shot in the shoulder and was treated in hospital - thankfully his injuries were not life-threatening.
Detective Inspector Phil Turner-Robson said: “We understand this was a concerning incident, but we would like to reassure the community that we are making good progress with our investigation and have made two arrests.
“We are investigating this incident as a top priority, are following a number of lines of enquiry and also making house to house and CCTV enquiries.
“I would again appeal for anyone in the area who saw or heard anything; if you have any footage from the area and haven’t already spoken to the police, we would urge you to please come forward.
“We are appealing for any information relating to the silver VW Scirocco used in the offence. This vehicle was located burned out in Rickmansworth at around 10pm on Wednesday (11/6).
“We would like to appeal for information surrounding this vehicle, or if anyone has dash-cam footage of this car in the area, either before or after the offence took place.
“Reassurance patrols will be continuing in the area, so if you have any concerns, or any information, please speak to an officer.
