Family pays tribute to man who died in Hatfield collision

A family has paid tribute to a man who tragically died in a collision while travelling on his mobility scooter in Hatfield, describing him as a "loved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother."

Keith Anthony Whiting, 79, was involved in a collision with a car while travelling along Queensway on Thursday, 15 August 2024. Emergency services, including officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, as well as the East of England Ambulance Service, were called to the scene at approximately 9am. Despite their efforts, Mr Whiting was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a tribute, his family expressed their grief, stating: “It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Keith Whiting of Hatfield, Hertfordshire, on Thursday 15 August 2024, aged 79. A loved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother, he will be sadly missed by family and all his friends.”

Detective Constable Dale Morris, of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, commented: “Our thoughts remain with Keith’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
