Firefighters have rescued three people from a fire at a four-storey property in Aylesbury.

Crews from Aylesbury, Winslow, High Wycombe and Thame all arrived at the scene yesterday afternoon, just before 4pm.

They were called to Buckingham Road, where the property had caught alight in the basement.

No cause has been listed by Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service yet, but we do know two women were rescued using a ladder, and one man was rescued from the ground floor.

Firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, a 10.5 metre ladder, and a ventilation fan to combat the blaze.

Crews asked the public to avoid the area due to traffic yesterday afternoon.
