Three more arrested over Aylesbury murder

All are frim Buckinghamshire and three others remain in custody as well.

After a man was killed in Aylesbury, three more people have been arrested.

The victim, in his twenties, was attacked near the Edinburgh Playing Fields on Wednesday night and died of his injuries in hospital.

His death is being treated as murder.

Formal identification has yet to take place and a Home Office post-mortem examination was conducted on Friday, the results of which are pending further medical opinion.

A second man suffered less serious injuries and has since been discharged.

Six arrested

Now, Thames Valley Police have made three further arrests as part of their investigation.

The men, all from Buckinghamshire, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder and remain in police custody at this time.

Three other men who had previously been arrested remain in custody as a warrant of further detention has been granted while investigations continue.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, head of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said:

“We are continuing this investigation and have made three further arrests.

“The next of kin of the man who has died continue to be supported by specially trained officers, and our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.

“On behalf of the family, we would request that their privacy is respected while they come to terms with what has happened.

“I can re-assure the local community again that we believe the victim and offenders were known to each other and there is no suggestion of any wider threat to the public.
