Three charged as man left in critical condition after Hertford assault

Three people have been charged by Hertfordshire Police in connection with an assault in Hertford on Saturday night (November 4).

An altercation between a group of people took place in the Tesco's car park in Ware Road at around 8:15pm.

A man in his 50s was among several injured, he remains in a critical condition in hospital.

42-year-old Stuart Smith, 41-year-old Karen Lynn and 20-year-old Charlie Penn, all of Cromwell Road in Ware, have been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH).

A 19-year-old woman who was also arrested, is on police bail.

The three charged appeared at Hatfield Remand Court yesterday morning (November 8) and have been remanded into custody.

Detective Inspector Manjit Khela, from the East Herts Local Crime Unit, said: “Although charges have been authorised, our enquiries are ongoing, and we continue to appeal for any further witnesses to please come forward. If you have any information at all, please get in touch.”
