Third arrest after man died on Wycombe street
The victim has now been named after passing away on Saturday morning
After a man died in the street in Wycombe, another person has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Andrew Ballantyne, who was 55, was discovered on Saturday morning.
Now a 25-year-old man has been detained, after two others were arrested.
The man, from the town, was arrested yesterday (2/8) on suspicion of murder, and he remains in police custody at this time.
Two other men, aged 25 and 27, both from High Wycombe, have previously been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The 27-year-old man has been released under investigation for the murder and on bail for drugs offence. The 25-year-old remains in police custody.
The arrest is in connection with an incident at around 12.20am on Saturday in Micklefield Road at the junction with Hicks Farm Rise when police officers discovered the victim on the ground.
The victim has now been formally identified as Andrew Ballantyne, aged 55, from High Wycombe.
A Home Office post-mortem examination was conducted yesterday and it is inconclusive at this time with the cause of death unascertained awaiting further testing.
Head of Major Crime, Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, said:
“The thoughts of Thames Valley Police remain with Andrew’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
“Andrew’s family are being supported by specially trained officers, and on their behalf, I would ask for their privacy to be respected.
“We have currently made three arrests and we are continuing to investigate the circumstances thoroughly.
“I would again appeal to anybody who witnessed the incident, or knows what happened, to please get in touch with police.
