Thames Valley Police issue warning over flooding in Buckinghamshire

They are asking for people to take care as roads become water logged

Thames Valley Police have issued a safety warning after reports of flooded roads.

Posting to their facebook, Thames Valley Police have posted the following message:

"We're aware of a number of roads that are flooding in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

"We have received reports of flooding in Station Road, Brize Norton, the B4022 between Charlbury and Witney, the A41 Oxford Road between Bicester and Aylesbury at the junction with Station Road, the road between Hempton and Duns Tew and Water Stratford Road in Finmere (Buckinghamshire).

"Also in Buckingham, the Tingewick bypass, the A421 linking Buckingham to Bicester is closed due to flooding and Buckingham town centre is also affected by flooding, passable with care.

"Please take extra care while driving into standing water and adjust your speeds according to the conditions.

"Please also ensure where you are approaching standing water that you check the depth of this water before attempting to pass through it."

The force is also warning people to avoid the A422 between Buckingham and Milton Keynes as it is closed because of flooding.

The team added:

"We are responding to numerous calls regarding roads being flooded across the Aylesbury Vale area, we are currently working alongside multiple other emergency services to cover all these road closures and flooded area."

Stowe

Poundon

Gawcott

Tingewick
