Teenager sexually assaulted in Gerrards Cross

The 15-year-old girl was approached from behind and pulled to the ground

A teenager has been sexually assaulted in Gerrards Cross.

It happened on Thursday (29 July) at around 5pm, when the 15-year-old girl was walking through the wooded area of Gerrards Cross Common near the A40.

She was approached from behind by a man who pulled her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

Thames Valley Police have confirmed she did not sustain any injuries.

The offender is described as a white male, approximately 5ft 11 inches tall and average build.

He was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit top and bottoms with the hood up over his face.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Michael Anderson of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit based at Aylesbury police station said:

"This was a terrifying incident for the young victim who left her family home for an evening walk in Gerrards Cross Common.

"Thames Valley Police takes reports of sexual assault very seriously.

"A thorough investigation is underway and officers have been working to establish the circumstances of this incident since it was reported to us.

"There is an increased police presence in the area and our officers are working to identify the person responsible.

"We are appealing to members of the public who were in the area at the time of the incident to get in contact with us.

"We would also like to speak to anyone who might have dashcam footage that could help.
