Teen arrested after Milton Keynes College lockdown due to nearby knife incident

Thames Valley Police advised the college campus to temporarily lock down

A teenager has been arrested by Thames Valley Police after reports a male was armed with a knife in the area near Milton Keynes College on Chaffron Way yesterday morning (November 9).

It happened at around 10:20am.

The college posted to their social media pages to announce that they had temporarily been advised by the force to lock down due to a nearby incident.

Armed officers were deployed to the College.

A statement, posted to the Milton Keynes College Facebook page, said:

"Our Chaffron Way campus was briefly advised to lock down by Thames Valley Police due to an incident in the immediate area, this has now been resolved and the campus is open as usual."

Police arrest a 17-year-old

Thames Valley Police arrested a 17-year-old on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place; he's been released on bail.

Police say no one was injured and that there is no wider threat to the public.

Thames Valley Police confirmed**** receiving a report of a male armed with a knife to the rear of Woughton Leisure Centre, near Milton Keynes College at around 10.20am yesterday (9th November).

Their spokesperson said: “Officers responded immediately, with support from an armed deployment, and the college was advised to go into lockdown, which it did.

“Officers arrested a 17-year-old boy from Milton Keynes on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place. He has been released on police bail.

“No one was injured and the college has returned to normal. We would like to thank the college for their co-operation during this incident.

“Officers have spoken to the college staff but there is no wider threat to the public.

“An investigation is underway and anyone with information should call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43230504168.
