Man arrested after drunk passenger steals bus in Milton Keynes

Officers say the suspect "left a trail of devastation"

Police investigating the theft of a bus by a drunk passenger yesterday evening have arrested a 43-year-old man.

Thames Valley Police say a man left a trail of devastation - after stealing the single-decker at the Tesco bus stop on Tongwell Street at around 6:20pm on Monday.

It was later found outside Milton Keynes Central railway station - the man arrested remains in custody.

Thames Valley Police said: "The bus was reported stolen at the Tesco bus stop on Tongwell Street at around 6.22pm yesterday (23/1)."

"Officers found the bus at Milton Keynes Central railway station and the offender had decamped.

"A 43-year-old man from Milton Keynes was arrested a short distance away.

"He remains in custody."
