Stevenage FC player subjected to "vile, racist message" on social media
The Club have released a statement, saying they condemn the behaviour
A Stevenage Football Club player has been sent a "vile, racist message" on social media, following one of their recent games.
The player, who has not been named in the press release, was subjected to the abuse, with The Club saying they are "appalled and deeply disappointed" following the incident.
It has been reported to the EFL, Kick It Out, the PFA and the Police.
In a statement released on their website, the Club goes on to say "The Club condemns this behaviour and will work closely with the relevant authorities to investigate the perpetrator and support our player.
"Racist abuse will not be tolerated by Stevenage Football Club. The Club will make no further comment at this time."
