Some train passengers across Essex, Hertfordshire, Cambridge and London have been warned to "not travel" after signalling cables were stolen overnight.

There are no Greater Anglia trains between London Liverpool Street and Broxbourne, in Hertfordshire, after the cables were stolen in the Hackney area.

Greater Anglia have written online:

"Due to theft of signalling cables between Broxbourne and London Liverpool Street all lines are blocked.

"Please do not travel between Stansted Airport, Cambridge and Hertford East and London Liverpool Street until further notice.

"Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled, delayed or revised.

"Disruption is expected until further notice.

"Ticket restrictions for today have been lifted, and tickets dated for today (Thursday 20 February 2025) will be valid tomorrow (Friday 21 February 2025)."

They've added where you are able to use your Greater Anglia ticket:

"Ticket Acceptance:

• Great Northern between Hertford North and Moorgate

• Great Northern between Ely and London Kings Cross • Thameslink between Cambridge and St Pancras International

• London Underground"
