Teenage boy seriously injured after being hit by skip lorry
The incident happened on High Road, at the junction with Couzens Lane East
A teenage boy has been seriously injured after he was hit by a DAF skip lorry.
Emergency services were called to the incident at around 8.17am yesterday (1 July), after reports of an incident involving a pedestrian and a DAF skip lorry.
Police attended the scene on High Road, at the junction with Couzens Lane East, along with colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service, assisted by colleagues from the Herts and Essex Air Ambulance Service.
The pedestrian, a teenage boy, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Sergeant Luke Jenkins from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “As part of our investigations, I am appealing to anyone who either witnessed the collision or was driving in the area at the time of the incident to please contact me.
“The collision occurred at a time when pupils and parents would have been making their way to the nearby school, so if you were in the area and saw what happened, please contact me.
“If you have any additional information or dashcam footage, this could assist with our investigation.”
