Six arrested after murder in Kings Langley
Six arrests have been made in the investigation into the shooting death of Mustapha Jatta, as police seek information about a white Volkswagen Golf seen nearby
Detectives have arrested six men as part of their investigation into the shooting death of a man in Kings Langley and are seeking information about a white Volkswagen Golf seen in the area before the attack.
Mustapha Jatta, 30, was shot dead in Railway Terrace, Kings Langley, at about 12.33am on Tuesday 17 September 2024. Police described the killing as execution-style.
About 15 minutes later, at roughly 12.45am, the same white Volkswagen Golf involved in the incident was set on fire in Furtherfield, Abbots Langley.
Detective Inspector Adam Bridges, leading the inquiry, said officers have recently made several arrests and continue to follow new lines of enquiry. He asked anyone who saw the distinctive white Volkswagen Golf GTD in North Watford between 7 and 17 September to come forward. The vehicle had a square yellow sticker on the top corner of the driver’s side windscreen and a blue and white sticker on the passenger side.
“Following arrests and interviews, we want to hear from anyone who remembers seeing this car in the area before the murder,” said Detective Inspector Bridges. “If you have any information that could help, please do the right thing and come forward and work with us.”
The six men arrested include five from Watford aged between 18 and 22, and one 36-year-old man from London. They are all on police bail with conditions while enquiries continue.
